It is important for us stepparents to remember that it may be a long time (or never) before we receive any recognition. It has to be good enough just to know that your spouse appreciates everything that you do for his/her children. I have two stepkids myself and even though they were very, very difficult for the first 5 years, I always knew that my husband supported me and appreciated me. Before you reach the point of loving your stepkids, you do it because of your love for your partner. Thanks for sharing. Angie Very well said!
