		<description>Very well said!  It is important for us stepparents to remember that it may be a long time (or never) before we receive any recognition.  It has to be good enough just to know that your spouse appreciates everything that you do for his/her children.  I have two stepkids myself and even though they were very, very difficult for the first 5 years, I always knew that my husband supported me and appreciated me.  Before you reach the point of loving your stepkids, you do it because of your love for your partner.
